Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN)
If travel is difficult because of mobility, distance or inclement weather, OTN is the ideal way to facilitate your consultation. Dr. Shum's office accepts requests for video conference appointments through the OTN. Most towns and cities in Ontario have OTN facilities in the hospital or at a primary care provider's office where video conferences occur.

Please advise our office and your doctor to accommodate the request for OTN.

Dr. Shum's office can organize an OTN consultation directly at your home with your own personal computer. To be eligible, you need a valid email address, a high-speed internet connection and a video camera system with a microphone. eConsults
If you do not need to be seen in person or through video conference, but require Dr. Shum to review your problem, your family doctor or nurse practitioner can request an eConsult through the OTN.

Zoom
Dr. Shum is offers Zoom teleservices to patients who wish to have their consultation or follow-up remotely. Requirements include an email address, high-speed internet and a computer or phone with video and audio capabilities. For more information, contact the office.
